my story about a sentence from TOAF

I liked this short story I wrote about TOAF, this sentence sparked a story.

The Cold Snap
“I was writing next door to a former crackhouse, which had become a lesser crackhouse, and a place of violence.”
A lesser crackhouse, what in the fuck is that? A crackhouse is a crackhouse is a crackhouse; there is nothing lesser about such a horrible place, where our story begins. ‘Eddy’ didn’t care if his new crackhouse had turned into a lesser one, he still got his fix. He was a skinny black man with ribs and all other bones showing, cracked and bleeding lips and bleeding gums. He stood six feet five inches, but only weighed one hundred and sixty pounds due to his excessive stimulant usage over the past 11 years. He was so skinny, I think he could weasel his way into any door of a home that he would burglarize. He was thirty two years old, and with that math, had been smoking crack for most of his youthful manhood. He was living on the streets of a rough part of downtown, and had encountered plenty of possible death encounters; yet this would soon prove to be the end of it all, winter wouldn’t be so forgiving.
He had nowhere to go, his family had given up on him years ago, despite many interventions throughout the years. The emotional burden was just too much. They had to let him go, and pursue his own horrific life of squalor. They would soon here of his eminent death in the newspaper days later. Late October turned into late November which leaded up to the holiday season (yes we have to be tolerant of other cultures, it’s no longer just ‘Christmas’) it was on Christmas eve that we had record breaking lows in the city, and many homeless people froze to death that night, one of them was none other than, Albert ‘Eddy’ Higgins.

Yep, seeya all in class!

today.

http://www.examiner.com/life-coach-in-denver/fda-approves-ecstasy-new-treatment-of-iraq-war-veterans-with-resistant-ptsd-encouraging-results I wrote about this in a poem. Godda love some good pure MDMA if you ever get a chance to try it. Know the purity, and your source. (I just wish I could get FDA grade, it's prolly pretty damn good.)

In other news, last night I spent a good deal of time looking at rough drafts of old poems from 3 to 4 years ago. I think I will use some of these poems for my portfolio due midterm. I also read the fiction packet.

Have a good weekend.

Blood Dazzler

WOW! I couldn't put this book/poems down. I think I was too young (maybe 17) when Katrina hit in 2005. I had no idea of any of the news that was taking place. These poems vividly describe the horrors better than any news could have reported.

\
If I had to pick any specific poem, '34' or 'What to Tweak' were probably my favorites.

other than that, this poetry book has everything; Sex, corpses, sadness, anger.

I also enjoy how the poems tell a story. There is a band called "Mars Volta", and their first CD "Deloused in the Comatorium is a 10 track Album that tells a story. I simply love this sort of thing.

We'll be discussing this book more in class, so I don't have much more to write for now.

That is all, have a good day, and weekend.
